Earlier today Rick Scott (Republican Governor of Florida) vetoed a bill which would have allowed for the transfer of non-violent drug addicts from prisons to treatment centers after they had served a minimum of half of the sentence and if they had been recomended by the prison for good behavior. His logic was that it would be a grave misjustice to the victims of these non-violent drug addicts to allow them treatment for their addiction.
